Already before the iPhone 2.0 firmware is released it has been hacked. This means you can take iPhone 2.0 (when it comes out) and have virtually an “open” iPhone where you can use on different cell phone carriers. Of course Apple has already said iPhone 2.0 firmware will give users the ability to install the 3rd party applications that developers are already developing with the new SDK (Software Development Kit) for the iPhone. With the hack it takes it just s step farther where users of the hacked iPhone 2.0 firmware will be able to do everything Apple says you can do with 2.0 in addition to the hacked features of using ANY application, approved and not approved, and the ability to switch cell phone service providers.
Apple is being hard pressed to develop a bit more secure software. Some of the recent reports stated the Safari web browser didn’t even have phishing filters. Talking about a security nightmare once hackers start attacking Macs and iPhones… oh, sorry, they already have.
